Nationals or Bust Week 8: Must. Get. Sleep.

We’re working hard to slim down before RWA Nationals in July through healthy eating, exercise, sharing information, and accountability. Join us any time along the way, introduce yourself and post goals, or just contribute to the conversation! We’re here to share!

When it comes to sleep, I’m an 8 hour a night girl. My hubby can attest that my grumpiest years were the infant stages where my babies woke me up during the night. Since I’ve started working full-time and publishing, one of my most fervent wishes has been to get by with less sleep. But I neglect those hours to my (and my employers) detriment.

Without adequate sleep, I spend all day in a fog and am dozing over my work-in-progress by 7pm. So sleep I must. When I protect those 7-8 hours, my body and brain rewards me by being more alert and on board when I am awake. I’m able to exercise and make better eating choices because I’m not noshin’ all day to try to keep myself awake.

Challenge: Are you a 6, 7, 8 hour a night girl? Does the amount of sleep you get affect your writing/exercise/eating choices? How do you ensure you get enough rest? Don’t forget to check in!!!

Dani

P.S. A big thanks to Kayelle Allen for the updated version of our button!!!!! Didn’t she do a great job?

    I love the updated button!

Ah, sleep. I’d love to get a full eight hours, but usually end up getting between 6 and 7. Oddly enough, I find I sleep better on the days that I work out. Coincidence? I think so!

Still at 5 pounds. Might be because I skipped some of my “get off the bus early” days. 😉

Hope everyone else is working towards their goals beautifully!

Well, my weight is up a pound. Not sure why, since I’ve been working equally hard, but you do what you can do. 🙂 Had my beautiful daughter’s middle school graduation this morning, so I’ve had to check in late. Where is everybody else? :s Anyway, I’m continuing to work on it, so…there you go!

And I’m more like a nine hour a night girl, but I usually don’t give myself that much time. Maybe that’s why I’m sleepy right about now. 🙂

Maybe the rest of them are napping. 😉

Sorry! I tried to reply via email twice but I kept getting error messages. So I’m late to the party.

Oddly enough, my son woke me up at 4:20 because of a nightmare. So I got an hour less sleep. than I wanted. Waaa! I’ve been struggling ever since, and had McD’s for lunch. (Bad blog hostess!)

BUT I’m down half a pound (the lowest I’ve been in 8 years!!!). That puts me at 5.5 lbs loss. And even though I fluctuated this week, it was below the 1?0 rather than above. 🙂 So I’m happy. Oh, and I met my exercise goals for this week. yay on that too!
