It’s Release Day for A Bride’s Tangled Vows, the first in my Mill Town Millionaires series, and I wanted to do something fun today! I got the idea for an author interview from my fellow author Angel Payne, and am excited about delving further into Aiden Blackstone’s psyche! Its so much fun to torture them. :)
Aiden is a hot shot art dealer who's all business—he doesn’t have time to be pulled into his grandfather’s machinations to bring him back to his hometown of Black Hills. Only his grandfather isn’t going to back down, and isn’t afraid to use Aiden’s invalid mother as motivation. This hero is trapped well and good, and determined not to develop any more ties to his former home—especially to his new wife.
The Term Limit Bride
Wealthy art dealer Aiden Blackstone has successfully avoided two things: returning to the hometown that haunts him, and taking a wife. Now thanks to his controlling grandfather's machinations he's reluctantly ended up doing both. But Christina Reece quickly proves she's no mere platonic bride of convenience.
The only way she can make this marriage outlive their one-year agreement is if she can make her sexy husband open his heart and forget the demons of the past…before it's too late. Because there's an enemy on the horizon, threatening to take away all they hold dear, including their newfound passion.

Let’s delve into what makes Aiden Blackstone tick!
Aiden: Maybe I don’t want to… Dani: You never want to cooperate, unless the idea is your own. But I’m going to ignore that…again. Aiden: You aren’t going to let me out of this, are you? Okay, let’s get on with it. Dani: I love you when you’re grumpy! Now, tell us, if you could erase any horrible experience from your past, what would it be? Aiden: *Looks up the stairs, as if he could see through the flooring to his mother's sick room.* Taking the phone call that my mother was in a car accident. I’d seen her just the day before, and didn’t get the information until my brother was able to call. I couldn’t see her, couldn’t tell for myself that she was okay… Dani: Because of your grandfather? Aiden: Yeah. When that man laid down an ultimatum, he meant it. Dani: If you could re-live any point of time in your life, but only a half-hour, what half-hour of your past would you like to experience again? Aiden: Any 30 minutes from my last day with my mother. Dani: *noting Aiden’s discomfort, and attempting to lighten the tone* Do you have any current obsessions? Aiden: You mean, besides that beautiful brunette I sleep beside every night but can’t touch? Not having her but watching her take care of everyone I love and me? I might be more obsessed with her than I am my business. No, that can’t be right.Hmmm… I have a feeling Aiden will be eating those words by the end of the book. What about you? Do you have any other questions for Aiden Blackstone?
Here’s a sneak peek at the first chapter of A Bride’s Tangled Vows! And don’t forget the other Blackstone Brothers—Jacob and Luke—in the upcoming installments of the Mill Town Millionaires series!Welcome to my stop on the Sizzling Summer Blog Hop!

Sean and the newest Backstage Pass book, Striking a Chord, are making an appearance on the True Story Book Blog today! Drop by and say hello!

Every day, I work on stories of couples that forge over mountains and crawl out of valleys to find their Happily Ever Afters. Yes, there’s some fun and sex along the way, but these men and women end up working hard to stay together…forever.
And every day, I live my own Happily Ever After. Its just as messy, hard, fun, and sexy as my books (at least I think so). I’m one of the lucky ones. My husband and I both have our faults, but this week we will celebrate 19 years of forever together, and the commitment we spoke to each other when we were barely more than kids still stands strong. For both of us.
My husband was a romantic young man, and he’s still as romantic, just in a different way. Then he brought me flowers, set up special dates, and said things to me that made me feel wonderful. Now he puts the kids to bed so I can have a few minutes to myself, learns all the ways he can help support me in my career as an author, and still says sweet, sexy things that make me feel wonderful. He spends his vacations keeping the kids so I can go to conferences. Does our laundry, and even occasionally washes dishes (even though he hates dishes).
So my hero may be killing dust bunnies rather than stalkers, but he’s still a hero! The hero for me!
Nineteen years ago, I wasn’t thinking about what our lives would look like in 20 years, but he has certainly stood the test of time!

Summer in the South means an abundance of steamy heat. When you’re trying to keep cool, its not so great, but when you’re ready to spice things up—oh, yeah!
The question is, how do we add romance to those sultry summer nights? Here are a few ideas from those of us with experience. :)
*Dancing and drinks at the local bar.
*Skinny dippin’ at the beach or lake.
*Long walks in the dark.
*Lemonade on the front porch swing.
*A private striptease with nothin’ but the crickets for music.
*Settin’ up a radio on the tailgate of a truck and having a personal dance party.
*Bonfires.
*Playin’ in the pool (with or without swimsuits).
*Long nighttime drives with the windows down.

Eye opening! Exciting! Overwhelming!
All of these adjectives and more could be used to describe my first taste of the Romantic Times Readers Convention in New Orleans, LA, a few weeks ago. As I’m sure all first timers can attest.
As an introvert, being thrown into the midst of overflowing crowds of people is overwhelming—the noise, the lack of personal space, the pressure to always be ‘on’, the noise (ask me about the hotel lobby sometime...)
But the frenetic energy and enthusiasm of the readers attending both inspired and thrilled me. Every giddy smile and squee filled my writer’s happiness bubble that much more. Totally cool!
I participated in several events, including the Series Soiree for Harlequin authors. Then the Masquerade Oddities Emporium, where we decorated masks with feathers, jewels, and all manner of glittery goodness.

And my fellow Ruby Sisters Burlesque Revue, where the gorgeous Bella Blue from the New Orleans School of Burlesque gave an incredible lesson in this sexy dance style (and a few on being comfortable in your body too). I’ll be posting a full blog on this next week.

This was also my first time to attend a print book signing! I actually sold a few copies and was asked to sign scrapbooks made by some visiting Australian readers who had included my book covers (I was told I had great eye candy!). I also got to meet my great neighbors on either side, romantic suspense author Julie Ann Walker and urban fantasy Carrie Vaughn . Both were very encouraging during those long, long hours.

Though my first trip to Bourbon Street was educational, I’m not sharing pictures or stories of those adventures... (too incriminating!)
As to the rest, tons of fun! That’s why its taken me a full 2 weeks to recover.
Have you ever been to a readers’ convention? What was your favorite part? What about New Orleans? I can’t wait to go back!
Dani

It’s finally here!
I know Daniel’s story has been a long time coming, but he’s bursting off the pages, I promise! As I shared with my newsletter subscribers, I’ve been living with Daniel’s story for a long time. When he first revealed he wasn’t the player he had shown himself to be in Michael’s book, I was shocked. Then enthralled. His and Becca’s history is complicated and makes their HEAs that much sweeter.
From SETTLING THE SCORE, Backstage Pass Book #2
“You’re far too concerned about things outside of yourself—you can’t turn your brain off and simply focus on the pleasure.” Pleasure he desperately wanted to give her. Tears welling into her eyes told him he was on track, even if her mouth wouldn’t admit it. He held up the blindfold once more. “Which is why I need to teach you to shut all that shit out. To concentrate on how good you feel, not what I want from you. Not how you look.” She started, obviously surprised by his insight. Oh yeah, he’d known about her obsession with her looks for years. He wasn’t going to let that get in his way either. He brushed the length of material along her jawline. “Let me do this, Becca. For you.” For me. Those oh too vulnerable eyes closed once more, her chin tilting up in surrender. This close he could see her hard swallow as she awaited his next move, the pulse at the base of her neck picking up speed. The beauty of her in that position took his breath away. If he could get his hands on Rockin’ Reno, he’d break every bone in his sleazy little body. Way past time for Becca to find out what it was like to be with a man who put her needs before his own. SETTLING THE SCORE is Available from Amazon and Smashwords.
This is it! I’m heading out tomorrow for the RT Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. Can hardly contain my excitement!
If you are in the New Orleans area, or will be attending the conference, stop by and say hi! I’d love to see you at any of these events:
Oddities Emporium Masquerade Workshop, Wednesday, May 14, 12pm to 1pm
Series Soiree, Harlequin Authors, Friday May 16, 11:15am to 12:15pm
Ruby Slipper Burlesque Revue, Friday May 16, 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Giant Book Fair, Saturday May 17, 11am to 2pm
If you can't make it to Louisiana, but live in the southern US, consider joining me at the Heart of Dixie Romance Readers Luncheon in Huntsville, AL on June 14. I'll be hosting a table there with author Ella Sheridan, and signing books at the Charity Book Fair afterward. Registration is now underway here.
