Summer in the South means an abundance of steamy heat. When you’re trying to keep cool, its not so great, but when you’re ready to spice things up—oh, yeah!

The question is, how do we add romance to those sultry summer nights? Here are a few ideas from those of us with experience.  🙂

*Dancing and drinks at the local bar.

*Skinny dippin’ at the beach or lake.

*Long walks in the dark.

*Lemonade on the front porch swing.

*A private striptease with nothin’ but the crickets for music.

*Settin’ up a radio on the tailgate of a truck and having a personal dance party.

*Bonfires.

*Playin’ in the pool (with or without swimsuits).

*Long nighttime drives with the windows down.

Warm night after the kids are asleep on the back porch. We live out in the middle of nowhere, so it’s really quiet. lol. Thanks for the giveaway!

I love bonfires too, Veronica! I prefer them on cool fall nights, but there’s something so fun about a party around a bonfire. Party time! Thanks for joining me!

Ah, Angela, that is always so relaxing! And seems to prompt the most intimate of conversations. 😉 Hubby and I used to live in a more secluded area and had a hot tub on the back porch. Spent many a night out there with a baby monitor nearby when our kiddios were young. Kept us sane!

Certainly, long walks in the dark or long drives at summer night can be awesome ideas. To top it, if one could have arranged for a date on the sea beach (under the moonlight).

Sorry to be a downer, but I’m not into heat, excessive sun or bugs, so a nice air conditioned restaurant and movie for me. A nice fall walk to see the leaves changing with a picnic is nice.

Lots of beach people, it seems! 🙂 And the long drives always takes me back to my own dating years. I lived an hour away from my future husband and we logged a lot of hours in the car. Ah, Anne, I feel ya! You’ll notice a lot of my date ideas happen at night. I’m not really into sweating. Unless I’m gonna swim afterwards. LOL

I agree with your entire list, but skinny dippin’ is on top for me! 😉

Thanks for being part of the hop! (I also signed for the newsletter, but with the unpublished email, that I used to put the comment).

My idea for a summer date is to pack a waterproof picnic and got whitewater kayaking, then have lunch on a beautiful secluded spot on the river bank.

Ideal summer date is a trip to the carnival or something, a nice dinner, and a walk with nice conversation.
