Nationals or Bust, healthy writers, diet, Dani Wade, RWA National Conference, eating healthy, exercise

While my progress during this challenge hasn’t been stellar (still hanging in there are 7 pounds the last time I stepped on the scale), I realized when I made a recent trip to visit family that over the last year and a half I’ve actually come down 25 pounds total! For someone who had not been able to lose weight the whole 7 years prior to that — it’s incredible!

I knew that my shape was changing. Almost all of my pants are baggy and I can take them off without unbuttoning them. I’m actually going to have to have new pants for Nationals. Not much else has changed, but that bit of encouragement went a long way. Then I went out of town and a few relatives mentioned how good I looked. Nothing like someone who hasn’t seen you in a while to notice the difference.

So my progress is slow, but its happening! If I keep trying, I’ll eventually reach my goal weight and be able to maintain it because of the changes I’ve put into place. My point is: if I can do it, you can too! I’m the worst dieter and exerciser in the world. It doesn’t take much to beat me.  🙂  So keep trying, keep moving. 1 meal at a time. 1 exercise session at a time. You can do it! I’m sure of it!

Still stagnant, so this week I joined weight watchers (online) so maybe I can see what needs to change. Where am I making mistakes? I have done WW in the past with little or no success, but I’m up a bit from where I was then 🙁 so maybe it’ll help to get me back on track. I did go to the farmer’s market last night and pick up some pretty peaches and squash! 🙂 — LJ

I’ve lost another pound, for a total of 11.5, and in the last year I’ve lost 22.5. I’m pretty proud of that even though my weight hasn’t come down much in the last 3 weeks. But I’m still working on it, even with all the interruptions of the kids being home, traveling, birthdays, Father’s and Mother’s Days, and a host of other things. I’m glad all that is pretty much behind me till Nationals. Four weeks? Oh. My. Goodness. I’m not ready! But even with 10 pounds to go on my goal, I can see the difference from January, and from last year, and I’m happy that I’m moving in the right (downward!) direction. 🙂

I’m stuck at the 7-pound mark as well, and now I’ve got to kick things into serious gear so I can wear the new pants I bought myself for inspiration (they fit, but forget about eating or drinking if I wear them). At least my awards ceremony dress looks good whether I lose any more weight or not. Hey, I could just wear that all the time in Atlanta. LOL

Hope everyone else is kicking butt!
