Damon West, Snow Bound Damon is praying for another winter blizzard to hit southern Tennessee this year! Field Trip: Cynthia Sax Interview
I'm excited to be joining fellow Nice Girls Writing Naughty author Cynthia Sax for an interview about my newest release, BENEATH THE SURFACE, and what I love so much about it (and hope you do too). While you're there, check out some of Cynthia's hot, hot romances! She has a very cool serial being released right now that I'm following, both to see how the releases are handled, and to see how the story ends. :)
Field Trip: Ella Sheridan
I'm hanging out over on Ella Sheridan's blog to celebrate the release of BENEATH THE SURFACE this week! For those of you who don't know yet, Ella Sheridan is my twin sister, so we are talking about twins, and their influence on my new book. I'd love for you to stop by and ask questions or simply comment! Yes, BENEATH THE SURFACE is live on Amazon! I'm working on the other sites as we speak. It's on sale for a week only at 99 cents! Get this start to my new series before the price goes up. Enjoy! Dani
...and I'm feeling the pinch! Releasing a new book is always nerve-wracking, simply because perfect strangers are now reading the part of you that you put down on (virtual) paper. But there's also a lot of "things" that need to be done to make it happen. And did I mention that it's the Thanksgiving holiday this week in the US? And I have family coming to stay... All of this combined leads to me looking like this: But regardless of whether it all gets done, BENEATH THE SURFACE will be live on Sunday, Nov. 30th! I've got a lot of cool things planned, including some guest posts that you'll find out about here on the blog. For the first time, I'll be hostessing a big Release Day party on Facebook from 4 to 7pm with some fellow authors! Lots of giveaways and fun, fun stuff. You won't want to miss it, so friend my profile here to receive an invite. Hopefully the next time you see me, my hair will be less crazy... Dani
It’s Coming: Beneath the Surface Release Date
So much going on over the next few weeks! I’m getting ready to launch my newest series, Small Town Secrets, to readers on Nov. 30th. BENEATH THE SURFACE was my first true book of my heart, and finalled in the RWA Golden Heart contest in 2009. Sharing it with readers is beyond thrilling. I’ll be revealing the cover on my brand new Facebook author page on Wednesday, Nov 19. Like my page to be one of the first to see it, and receive an invite to the Release Day Party! BENEATH THE SURFACE, Coming November 30th Too many secrets… Hidden in a quiet town along the Tennessee border, a secret gathering exists where the privileged fulfill their darkest desires. One of their members initiates a desperate act designed to bring home his lifelong obsession: Emma Hartwell. A past not forgotten… Drawn back to her hometown by the psychic connection with her twin sister, Emma must fight the stubborn silence of those around her in her quest to find her missing sister. Colin McIntyre hopes to make up for his past mistakes with Emma by helping her, but his own ties to the Gathering might be exposed along the way. Time is running out… Exposure could be dangerous for his family, along with himself and Emma. Can they fight the secrets and lies to rescue Emma’s sister… and their own chance at life-long love?
Interested in some Advanced Reading?
Over the next few months, some very exciting things are happening. I’ve got 3 book releases in the next 4 months, and several more next year. I’m overwhelmed at the thought of experiencing all of this with my readers, and I want you to have the chance to share in this excitement with me! I’m offering a few select readers the chance to read these books early! I’m starting my very own Advanced Review Team, and I’d love for you to be a part. That means you’d get the chance to read my upcoming books BEFORE RELEASE DAY! All I ask is that you leave an honest review of the book on Amazon on the actual release day. Does the thought of free books pique your interest? Well, here’s what you do:
- Sign up for my newsletter (if you haven’t already).
- Then send an email to readdaniwade (at) gmail.com with the subject: Advance Reading Team.
- I will send out an email when a new release is scheduled.
- I’ll send an ARC of the book approximately 2-3 weeks before the release day.
- You get to read it! Yay!
- I’ll send you a final email the day before the book releases. This is a reminder e-mail to let you know your review should be posted to Amazon and any other e-book retailers or sites you feel comfortable posting to (Goodreads, B&N, ARE, etc.), on the following day. You can even write it ahead of time and have it ready to copy and paste on release day.
- ART members may also get exclusive access to some content or special surprises. You’ll have to join to see…
Signs can be some of the funniest examples of communication—I’m sure you’ve noticed. They can have hidden, unintended meaning, or they can be deliberately humorous on several levels. Some of you may remember the sign blog I did with Ella Sheridan after our trip to Ireland last year. It was so fun to do, we’ve decided to indulge our funny bones once more with Volume 2 from Savannah, GA, earlier this month. I hope you enjoy our southern version of Here’s Your Sign. To see the other half of the blog, go to www.ellasheridanauthor.com for more funnies! A true southern place! After all, we know all about living through true grit! I wonder if John Wayne ever ate here... Feeling a little peckish? When I think of cookies (especially those as yummy as the ones in this place), I don't think of eating like a bird. Far from it. I polished off a package in a few hours. In the south, Velvet Elvis's are practically treasure. From a hat shop on the River Walk in Savannah. Apropos, don't you think? Love this! An open tap is the best kind of bar. Is this really encouragement to eat here? An advertisement for high fat food and the new belly fat you'll add? I thought seafood was supposed to be healthy? I think this is self-explanatory (and a warning all who know me should heed). Crazy author alert! As for this restaurant, its a chain that we found all over Savannah and Tybee Island. I don't know about you, but I have a hard time ordering food from something that reminds me of spit... What's your funniest sign of the bunch? Can you caption them? Dani Don't forget to check out part 2 at www.ellasheridanauthor.com .
Stirring Creativity Through Travel
Last week, my mother, sisters, niece, and daughter hit the road! We left the boys behind and enjoying a girls’ only trip to historic Savannah, GA. Savannah is a city of old Southern values, quirky traditions, modern entertainment, and beautiful views. Visiting it has a similar feel to some of the cities I saw in Ireland, where forests and water happily coincide. But the sheer spirit of the city seemed peaceful and quiet to me, even with all the people (and dogs) there. With every trip I take, I find myself facing a dichotomy within myself. You see, I’m a full blown introvert. I enjoy people in small doses, because prolonged exposure seriously wipes out my energy levels. At the same time, I love to travel, see new places, and meet new people. As a creative soul, I enjoy absorbing the atmosphere, the colors and traditions of different places. Its one of the things that “refills my well”. I think I also love it, because it also breaks me out of my daily grind. I forget all the bathrooms I have to clean, all the mindless typing for my day job, and ‘extras’ that come along with a job as an author. New places and sights clear my mind and spark my imagination. So, though I can’t indulge as often as I’d like, travel is definitely one of my favorite pastimes. Where is your favorite place to visit? I’d love to have new cities to explore! Dani FYI: Tune in next week for a special edition of 'Funny Signs of Savannah', a co-blog with author Ella Sheridan!
