Interested in some Advanced Reading?

Over the next few months, some very exciting things are happening. I’ve got 3 book releases in the next 4 months, and several more next year. I’m overwhelmed at the thought of experiencing all of this with my readers, and I want you to have the chance to share in this excitement with me! I’m offering a few select readers the chance to read these books early! I’m starting my very own Advanced Review Team, and I’d love for you to be a part. That means you’d get the chance to read my upcoming books BEFORE RELEASE DAY! All I ask is that you leave an honest review of the book on Amazon on the actual release day. Advanced Review Team, Dani Wade, romance readers, romance authors Does the thought of free books pique your interest? Well, here’s what you do:
  1. Sign up for my newsletter (if you haven’t already).
Only newsletter members are eligible for this special opportunity. I assume if you’re interested in my books, you’re interested in information on upcoming releases and events. Newsletter members only receive an email every 4 to 6 weeks, so no spamming. (P.S. Joining my newsletter means getting a FREE novella too—SNOW BOUND, part of my Small Town Secrets series.)
  1. Then send an email to readdaniwade (at) gmail.com with the subject: Advance Reading Team.
In the body of the email, tell me why you would like to join and what type of my books you’d like to read. ART members have the option of reading my sexy suspense books, my contemporary romances (Harlequin Desires), OR BOTH. Your choice! Also tell me what file type you need. That’s it! Easy peasy. All I ask is that you be willing to read and honestly review my books. What happens after you join?
  1. I will send out an email when a new release is scheduled.
  1. I’ll send an ARC of the book approximately 2-3 weeks before the release day.
  1. You get to read it! Yay!
  1. I’ll send you a final email the day before the book releases. This is a reminder e-mail to let you know your review should be posted to Amazon and any other e-book retailers or sites you feel comfortable posting to (Goodreads, B&N, ARE, etc.), on the following day. You can even write it ahead of time and have it ready to copy and paste on release day.
  1. ART members may also get exclusive access to some content or special surprises. You’ll have to join to see…
That’s it! Does this mean I expect all 5 star reviews? No. Not everyone will love my books (though I hope you actually like them if you sign up), and not everyone will enjoy all my books equally. As a life-long reader, I completely understand that. It’s another reason why I’m giving readers the option of which of my books they’d like to read. Not everyone loves both those genres. But reader reviews seriously help a book get noticed on Amazon! It helps other readers know what to anticipate in a story and whether it will fit their reading tastes. The number of reviews can also help authors when we apply for certain promotional opportunities. Every review I get on my books is a blessing—one for which I’m deeply grateful. All I ask is that you be honest, and don’t post any spoilers. So, are you with me? Readers who join now will get to read the first in my Small Town Secrets series, BENEATH THE SURFACE, this month! In upcoming months, my next Harlequin Desire will be ready—THE BLACKSTONE HEIR. And the next Backstage Pass book featuring Nate. So don’t wait! Send me that email now, and join the team. I can’t wait to get to know you and share special sneak peaks of my upcoming releases! Dani

San Antonio: Here I Come!

This week I'm heading out to San Antonio for the Romance Writers of America National Conference! I have a lot of "business" to take care of, but I'll also be refilling the well with some workshops on craft and author life, inspirational speakers, and party time! So y'all behave while I'm gone, and I'll come home with pics (if I can find non-incriminating ones).   San Antonio, Texas, RWA   In the meantime, tell me about your favorite cowboy romances! I'm eager to get in the mood! Dani   Picture used courtesy of Creative Commons, MaurieF

Settling The Score–Out Now!

 It’s finally here!

I know Daniel’s story has been a long time coming, but he’s bursting off the pages, I promise! As I shared with my newsletter subscribers, I’ve been living with Daniel’s story for a long time. When he first revealed he wasn’t the player he had shown himself to be in Michael’s book, I was shocked. Then enthralled. His and Becca’s history is complicated and makes their HEAs that much sweeter. Settling The Score, Dani Wade, Backstage Pass series, sexy contemporary romance, rock star heroes, cover reveal So click on your bookstore of choice, and download SETTLING THE SCORE today! An excerpt is available in the post below this one. Amazon Smashwords (which has all file types) I'd like to apologize to my Nook readers! I've repeatedly attempted to upload to Nook Press and it isn't cooperating. A link will be posted as soon as I can get that fixed!   Daniel Korvello isn’t your average Joe with a case of unrequited lust. He’s a hard rock front man who wonders if his publicist will ever see him as anything other than a job. Then they team up to hunt down a threat to Daniel’s family...and he seizes the chance to show her he’s up for more than just a one night stand. Becca Buchanan already lived through one rock-star scandal with her reputation barely intact. She’s determined never to put herself, or her family, through that again. Only she can’t deny the desire she feels for Daniel. When he exposes the molten heat beneath her Ice Maiden exterior, she may never be able to freeze him out again. Then their amateur investigation takes a dangerous turn that threatens the lives of those they both love. Can their newfound trust extend past the bedroom? Can Daniel let go of his guilt enough to embrace a future with Becca? NEXT WEEK: RT Recap! And don’t forget that my next Harlequin, A BRIDE’S TANGLED VOWS, the first in my Mill Town Millionaires series, is already up for preorder. Order today for Kindle or paperback!

Not Fast. Good.

I’ve gotten in a big rush lately. It makes sense. My life is chaotic and my To Do List never ends. Sometimes you get in that mode of pushing through to the next task, desperate to simply have something completed. Checking things off a To Do List can be oddly addictive when the tasks seem neverending. But I recently realized quantity doesn’t equal quality. Or rather, I was reminded.  :)  I’d forgotten in the mad rush to “complete” things. That frustrates me. As much as I want Daniel’s book on the virtual shelves, rushing to complete his book won’t result in a good book—a book I can be proud of. My most recent Harlequin, Book 2 in the Mill Town Millionaires series, took longer than I anticipated to finish. To do it (and Daniel's book) justice, I have to put off releasing the next Backstage Pass book, Settling the Score, until later this Spring. I’m trying to remember that my current chaotic state won’t last forever. I’d rather please my readers with a good story, rather than a quick read. (Hopefully my readers will agree.) These are all decisions that have to be made as an Indie writer. Harlequin sets my deadlines for their books. And I know Awesome Editor would put me through another round of revisions if he wasn’t happy with the story. I can do no less for books of which I alone serve as author, publisher, and promoter. But to make up for the wait, I want to give you a peek at the cover! My newsletter subscribers have already seen it, but they’re the only ones. I’m so thrilled with it! My cover artist, Elizabeth Wallace, has done a fantastic job. The cover echoes the opening scene of the book, when Daniel finally let’s go of years of control and shows Becca exactly what she’s been missing. Settling The Score, Dani Wade, Backstage Pass series, sexy contemporary romance, rock star heroes, cover reveal Pretty sexy, huh? I’ll be releasing an excerpt in a few weeks, again first in my newsletter, so be sure to sign up to catch the first sneak peek! And watch here and my FB/Twitter pages for first news on the rescheduled release date. Dani Takeaway: What’s one thing where you prefer to have quality over quickness?

December is Here!

December is one of my favorite times of the year. I love Christmas decorations and seeing friends and family. There’s this feeling in the air that something special is about to happen.  I hope you get to enjoy some of the magic of this season too! christmas trees In addition to all the fun, I'll also be hard at work. My next book for Harlequin has been accepted, and is ready for revisions! Yay! That book, the first in my Blackstone brothers trilogy, is set to release in August of 2014. And I've started the proposal for the second book. So much fun! I haven't forgotten my Backstage Pass books, and hope to be back to working on Daniel's book soon. Sean's rough draft is almost finished. More info about release dates coming in January! Speaking of magical things...Daniel Korvello, Michael’s brother in Finding Her Rhythm, will be making a special appearance in a new release this month. It’s not mine, but I’m as excited as if it were mine. Author Ella Sheridan’s Naughty Little Christmas, which releases on Christmas Eve from Loose Id, has Solar Uprising showing up for a performance. Daniel, of course, has to offer his advice on relationships, which if you remember from FHR, is always on the Naughty side.  :)  I’ll be sure to post the link once it’s live! Y’all may have noticed something a little different about my website. The blog is now my home page! To keep up with my news, I've started a newsletter, which is where I'll be sending out information about upcoming releases, cool news, and hopefully some interesting stuff.  :)  Check out the sign up in the side column! In the meantime, I hope to enjoy a couple of days of fun with my family. I hope you do too! Happy Holidays! Dani

September 2013 News

It's September in the South, but the heat isn't quite ready to let go of us yet! Still, for those of us in the US, it means the kids are back in school and football season is here. Its a busy time for my little band geek (Book Worm) and Little Man as they return to the rhythms of getting up early, studying, and homework. [caption id="attachment_165" align="aligncenter" width="225"]Nearby Waterfall Nearby Waterfall[/caption] August passed in a blur as I started, and finished, the rough draft of my next Harlequin Desire. But revisions will have to wait, because I'm off mid-month to visit the beautiful vistas of Ireland! Traveling with my besties and sis to see some of the places I've only read about--and plot Sean's book while I'm there. He's the sexy Irish drummer who will be featured as the hero in the third Backstage Pass novel. Progress on Daniel's book has been slow because of my Harlequin commitment, but I'm hoping to have a more definitive timeline soon! My upcoming trip will provide some much needed creative inspiration. Sometimes artists forget how important it is to refill the well from which we mine our ideas. Drops Become Trickles I was reminded of this (yes, I do need a reminder upside the head now & then) when I went with sis on a road trip to hear one of my favorite authors speak: Lexi Blake! Talk about a genuine, heartfelt woman! We listened, learned, and laughed the day away. It reminded me of Nationals, but not nearly as exhausting.  :) I still have a lot to learn about writing (and probably always will), and listening to any subject that interests me, viewing art, and allowing myself to just soak in knowledge is so refreshing. Heck, talking with other artists can do the same thing! My chaotic schedule doesn't allow for it often enough, but I really need to make time for it regularly. It energizes my writing and makes me a happier person. I hope y'all find a wealth of inspiration as fall colors and cooler weather make their way in (or new spring growth in other parts of the world)! Watch the blog later this month for pictures from my trip! Don't forget to keep updated with me day-to-day on Facebook (see sidebar link) or on Twitter as @daniwade1 . Dani

July 2013 News

So many things happening over the last 2 months, all leading up to the release of my first Harlequin Desire in August! So many times being an author is about the daily grind of putting words on the page or revising words on the page. But I've had the opportunity to do more of the fun stuff recently (along with putting words on the page). In June I attended the Heart of Dixie readers luncheon, meeting readers for the first time as an author instead of as a volunteer! One highlight was presenting my very own author basket after years of creating raffle baskets for this event. Harlequin Desire, His By Design, Dani Wade Then I started off July with a new contract from Awesome Editor at Harlequin Desire!!! I don't have a release date for these books yet, but we've already started the first and I'm thrilled! I hope to have more information on those soon. In the meantime, I'll be meeting with Awesome Editor while I'm in Atlanta for RWA National conference in July. Lots of cool things happening there, including the opportunity to meet some of my fellow Desire authors. The rest of the month will be horribly mundane, I'm sure. :) Lots of words to get on the page as I work not only on my next Harlequin, but also Daniel's book for the Backstage Pass series. I'll share lots more about my RWA experience after I return home, and the exciting happenings for Design's release next month! Dani

April News

Wow! March flew by me as briskly as the winds here in the South. Now its a blur of writing, revising, and more revising. I'm a little behind because of a special project I picked up (which I hope I can share more about next month), so I've had to postpone Finding Her Rhythm's release until April 30, 2013. I want the story to be perfect, so I'm not gonna rush it. I truly love working on Michael and Taylor's story, and hope you enjoy reading it! I'm still waiting to hear from awesome editor on my submissions, but will hopefully have news there soon too! In the meantime, its more revisions for Michael and Taylor, then off to line edits and formatting. I'm always busy, even when playing the waiting game that happens so frequently in publishing. I've got some fun field trips lined up, and hope you'll join me as I venture once more into the cyber-world. There's also something extra special coming to the blog this month! The start of my Nationals or Bust Health Challenge. My very talented sister (and copy editor) is a finalist in RWA's Golden Heart contest, and I'll be meeting my editor (hopefully) and lots of authors from my line, so we're both anxious to slim down a bit for Atlanta in July. I invite y'all to join us, whether you're attending RWA or not, as we encourage, inform, and hold each other accountable in our quest for better health and a teeny increase in self-confidence!!! It looks like a busy summer ahead. Stick with me -- it's going to be fun!!!!
